What are the Internal and External filters?
By default, we include 2 pre-made filters for every customer: “Internal Emails” and “External Emails.”
External Emails: Filter for any email exchanged that included an external party in the From or To line (we do not consider the CC line).
Internal Emails: Filter for any email exchanged between internal parties in the From or To line (we do not consider the CC line).
So how do we know what an “external” recipient or sender is? In your Settings / Domains tab, we show you a list of the domains we consider to be “Internal.” All other domains not on the “Internal” list are considered “External.” You can move domains back and forth between Internal & External as you like.
By default, we include your own domain on the “Internal” list, and any domains that have been added via the Google Workspace integration.
